Napili Bay

LOCATION:  From HWY 30, turn L at Napilihau St. (Light and Napili sign), R at the T, about .7 miles to Hui Rd.  Turn left. (see first photo)

PARKING:   Street Parking all along Hui Rd.  More parking at Napili Pl., the road to the South with another entrance there.

ACCESS:  Very easy access down pathway.  A little longer pathway from the South entrance.

FACILITIES:  No public restrooms.  Shower at the center pathway.  Restaurants on each end of the beach.

BEACH:  Large and sandy.  Shady areas are available on the South side.

SWIMMING:   When there is no shore break this is a great beach for swimming.  There are few if any rocks/reefs out in the water to get hurt on.  There are some reefs 100 feet or so out that are visible.  The current can be strong but tends to be sideways except at the edges.

SNORKELING:  Snorkeling can be good out at the two visible reefs as well as the left side.  Turtles hang out there often.

SURFING:  When the waves are big, this is a great surfing/boogie boarding beach.  Experience is suggested in the shore break.  One needs to be very aware of the reef location because the waves can tend to break near or on the reef.  There is normally a substantial backwash during high surf that makes this quite a wild place.
